Terms & Conditions

We are very relaxed here at Solar Lights Home, so if you would like to copy any part of our published content or articles for use on your own website, you are free to do so – provided that any links that are in the articles, pointing back to this site, are left in place.

To us, that seems like a fair trade, you get free content to publish on your own website, and we get a link back in exchange. For as long as other webmasters are willing to act fairly (and the vast majority always have been), we will continue to make our content freely available.

This system has worked well for quite some time, and only very rarely do we come across sites that try to circumvent our terms and conditions…….. however, when we do occasionally find websites trying to cheat, as a matter of principle, we ALWAYS take action against the offending site!

Thank you to everybody in the past who has adhered to these principles, and if you are one of those people, there is no need to read any further. The same applies if you want to publish any part of our content in the future, and you’re happy to abide by our ‘rules’ (sorry, I don’t like to use the word ‘rules’ but I couldn’t think of anything better).

How do we monitor this?

We set up Google alerts for random passages of text from each and every article that we publish. This means that we are alerted every time someone publishes any of our articles, and we periodically check the third party sites to ensure that the links are still in place. We recognise that occasionally things go wrong, so if we do find our content without the links in place, firstly we will send you a polite email pointing this out.

If that email doesn’t elicit an adequate response, we are forced to take further action which may or may not include contacting the search engines or ISP’s – either of these actions can have drastic consequences for an offending site.

Sorry about the heavy stuff, but we spend a lot of time, money, and effort developing this site, so we would be negligent if we didn’t protect our ‘investment’.
